On Sunday, July 12th divers from
the Atlantic Rangers, Aquatic Voyagers Scuba Club (AVSC) , Underwater Adventure Seekers (UAS) and U.N.D.ER. C of Newark met
at Shinnecock Inlet on Long Island, to pay their final respects to Sujon Low,
former President of NABS. A memorial bench supported and funded by individuals and various clubs
in the northeast region was constructed and placed on the beach facing Shinnecock Inlet. The day began with a dive under
the Ponquoge Bridge, afterward there was a dedication of the bench as NABS members gathered around and shared memories
of Sujon. Flowers were thrown into the water as Margaret Low scattered his ashes in the inlet. Afterward we gathered at a
nearby restaurant for dinner.
Thanks to all who made this event possible, it was a shared experience and a lasting memory
which will continue to bind us together. Thanks to Mel Betty, Ivan Donovan, William Landers and Tyrone Jenkins
